We have many customers across the region, all living in rural areas, with no mains sewer connection. These customers, who come from the domestic and commercial sectors, live or work at properties with cesspit or septic tank installations. Some use sewage treatment plants which they share with neighbours or with other businesses. Each of these facilities have different schedules for emptying, cleaning and maintenance.
The drainage contractors at Alton Pumps work in all rural parts of Hampshire, and in similar locations across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
If you need a cesspit or a septic tank emptied, or a treatment plant serviced, please contact us on 01420 561661. We offer a responsive service on a contract basis or by callout.
The emptying intervals for cesspits and septic tanks vary based on the volume of the tank itself, and the number of bums on seats. It makes sense that the more people you have generating wastewater in a home or business, the sooner the tank will fill. Because a cesspit is a holding tank without any treatment facilities, they need emptying more often.
While intervals will naturally vary, our drainage contractors typically empty cesspits every 6 weeks or so.
Septic tanks have separate chambers and use a simple treatment process to create an effluent. Effluent is a type of treated waste that disperses into a drainage field (soakaway), a ditch or the watercourse. Because a septic tank processes solid waste, it needs emptying at less frequent intervals.
Typically, our drainage contractors visit rural properties to empty septic tanks twice a year.
Experience in the management of clean and dirty wastewater, in our role as a pump supplier and installer, makes Alton Pumps an understandable choice for wet waste management. We cover Hampshire and the nearby Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex and Wiltshire areas with scheduled emptying services.
We have experienced drainage contractors on our team, and our own fleet of tankers fitted with jet vacuumation equipment.
Alton Pumps empties cesspits and septic tanks for individuals and businesses. If you happen to share a tank or a sewage treatment plant, we can still empty and maintain for you, and then invoice each of the key stakeholders separately. If you need us in an emergency, we are always here to assist you on a 24-hour basis, every single day of the week.
Even if you aren’t at home or at work, we can still come to empty tanks as long as you leave us with access.
Our company adheres to current General Binding Rules and has a licence to transport wet waste. We make a strong commitment to the environment, handling waste streams safely, and in a professional and responsible manner. Wherever possible, we encourage reuse and recycling in compliance with prevailing trade and industry legislation, anywhere in the South.
Wherever you are, we’ll keep you flowing!
