Drain lining

Drain lining is a cost-effective and non-invasive alternative to excavating and replacing damaged drains. With drain lining there is minimal disruption to your premises or property. A resin drain lining is bonded to the inside of the existing damaged pipework, sealing the interior of the pipe. This method of drain lining is also known as a cured-in-place pipe or CIPP.  Call our team today to book a visit from one of our specialist drainage engineers to discuss the most effective solution for your drainage system.

Book Alton Pumps Services to carry out CCTV Drain Surveys to inspect your sewer and blocked or damaged drains. Our professional team are experienced in commercial drains and sewers, and will identify the cause of your blockage quickly and cleanly. Using state-of-the-art camera technology, we use CCTV surveys to identify any  issues throughout your drains. Our team will detect major and minor damage, including blockages and collapsed drains – as well as any tree root ingress or severe cracks which may be causing problems. We have the right tools and equipment to fix your drainage problem.

In some circumstances excavation is the only option to repair a broken drain.  This method involves digging a trench to remove the broken pipe and replace with a new section.  Before drain excavation takes place we will carry out a CCTV drain survey to locate and identify where the problem is, and assess whether excavation is the only option. If the pipe is beyond repair due to extensive damage or corrosion we will advise to replace the drain.

Drain excavation can be carried out by hand or by digger. The method used will depend on the size of the area, potential of other pipework in the surrounding ground and sensitivity of the surrounding area. Excavating by hand is often the safest and least disruptive option when working on a well established site. Our drainage team are experienced engineers and will only advise on excavation when absolutely necessary and will carry out a site inspection prior to commencing work to ensure the location of the issue is correctly identified.

Our team of drainage engineers can evaluate and plan the correct drainage solution for your property or site. The team will assess:

  • Pipes size. Ensuring the correct size for the flow of water. This will minimise the risk of blockage which would cause issues in the future.
  • Provision for access hatches and rodding eyes to allow inspection and rodding/repair access.
  • Ventilation – air from pipework must be vented outside to prevent foul air contaminating buildings
  • Rainwater pipes discharge location – effect on foundations & surrounding properties.
  • Depth and gradient of drain to ensure the water can flow
  • Local authority regulations

  • Unstable ground (earth movement, construction)
  • Tree roots infiltrating sewer pipe holes / joints
  • Inner (water) & Outer (ground) pressure changes
  • Extreme temperature changes (ground freezing/thawing)
  • Scale Build Up
  • Mis-connection
  • Wear & Tear
  • Corrosion

If your drains are cracked or damaged this can lead to blockages, leaks, and flooding resulting in damage to your property, and subsequently expensive repairs.  At Alton Pump Services we have a team of experienced drain engineers that can repair or reline your drain with minimal disruption.

No dig drain relining allows us to repair the interior of your drain without the need for excavation. Our operations team will discuss with you the best time to implement the repair ensuring minimal inconvenience for the fastest and most cost-effective way to repair a damaged drain.
