School pump station repair in Surrey

Alton Pumps replaced a pump and its pipework, positioned both pumps upright and moved the float to prevent it catching on the pumps before testing the system and returning it to automatic operation.

The pump station requirement

The Surrey education site required a replacement pump and new fittings so the pump arrangement could be positioned upright within the chamber.

The completed work also addressed the float position, which needed to be kept clear of the pumps to prevent it becoming caught during operation.

Pump, pipework and float repair

The engineering team replaced the pump and associated pipework, then positioned both pumps upright in the chamber.

The float location was changed so it would not catch on the pumps. Both pumps were then tried and tested before being left working in automatic mode.
