Pump Station Installation by Alton Pumps
PUMP STATION INSTALLATION

Coordinated Pump Station Installation Mechanical, Electrical and Controls

Installation must be coordinated with chamber construction, access, lifting, cable ducts, kiosk position, incoming drainage and the rising-main connection.

We define the equipment boundary before works start so chamber supply, civils, electrical supply and M&E responsibilities are clear.

Commissioning checks the complete operating sequence rather than only confirming that each pump turns.

Pre-installation review

Check drawings, chamber interfaces, access and equipment schedule.

Mechanical installation

Install pumps, guide rails, couplings, pipework and valves.

Electrical and controls

Connect panels, sensors, floats, alarms and motor protection.

Functional commissioning

Test levels, duty rotation, alarms, valves and discharge.

SYSTEM DESIGN AND DELIVERY

A Complete Pump Station
Approach

Send the station drawings, pump and panel information, fault history or proposed duty for a technical review.

A clear installation sequence reduces clashes between chamber, pipework, kiosk, cabling and lifting requirements. Equipment should be checked against approved drawings before delivery.

Commissioning should include rotation, current draw, operating levels, duty and standby changeover, alarm operation, non-return valve function and the agreed discharge checks.

Send the latest drawings, equipment schedule, programme, electrical details and site access information before installation planning.

PUMP STATION INSTALLATION FAQ

Pump Station Installation Questions

Common questions about scope, technical information and delivery.

Do you install the chamber as well as the pumps? +

The boundary is agreed per project. We can supply packaged systems and complete the M&E installation; excavation, concrete and drainage works may be by others or separately coordinated.

What needs to be ready before installation? +

The chamber, access, cable ducts, kiosk base, incoming drainage, rising main and electrical supply should match the agreed drawings and programme.

Do you install control panels? +

Yes, control panels, level controls, alarms and associated interfaces can form part of the agreed installation.

What is checked during commissioning? +

Checks can include pump rotation, current, operating levels, duty changeover, alarms, valves, discharge and control settings.

Can you replace equipment in an existing station? +

Yes. Existing dimensions, duty, guide systems, pipework, controls and safe access must be reviewed first.
