Who we are

Alton Pumps Ltd operates altonpumps.com. This notice explains the information collected through this website and how it is used.

Information you provide

When you submit an enquiry, we may collect your name, telephone number, email address, site or postcode information, service requirement and the message or technical information you provide.

Website and call information

The site may record technical data such as the page visited, referral source, campaign identifiers, device information and enquiry time. Telephone calls may be routed through call-tracking services so that we can understand the source and quality of enquiries. Call recording, where enabled, should be announced to the caller.

Website call tracking

If you accept analytics cookies, our website may show you a phone number that tells us how you found us (for example a Google or Microsoft advert, a search engine or another website). It also notes the pages you view, the advert’s click reference and, from the advert’s own link, whether you were on a mobile, tablet or computer, and whether you tap a phone number. A cookie keeps this for up to 30 days from when you accepted, and is deleted as soon as you withdraw consent. It goes to our own call system, which Alton Facility Services runs on its own computer; Cloudflare carries the connection. If you don’t phone us, it is held only in that system’s working memory, never saved, and forgotten about four hours after the last page you viewed. If you do phone us, we link it to the record of your call, which we keep for up to 13 months (advert click references for 90 days); our nightly backups hold copies for up to 14 days more. That lets us see which adverts and pages bring enquiries. We don’t record your IP address or browser details with any of this: like any website, our system sees your IP address when your browser connects, and uses it only in working memory to protect the service from abuse. If you don’t accept, you may still see a different phone number, chosen in your browser alone: nothing is stored on your device and nothing about your visit is sent.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange attendance, deliver services, maintain business records, improve the website and advertising, prevent misuse and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Sharing and retention

Information may be processed by service providers supporting hosting, email, analytics, call tracking, forms and business administration. It is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, contract, record-keeping or legal purpose.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to ask about personal information held about you or to request correction, restriction or deletion where applicable. You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies

The main pages of this website use necessary technologies to protect our enquiry forms and to remember your cookie choice. Google Analytics is used only if you select “Accept analytics” in the cookie notice. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the page footer, and your choice is remembered in your browser for up to six months. Our advertising landing pages and any advertising or call tracking we use may set their own technologies, and browser controls can also be used to manage non-essential cookies.

Cookie	Set by	Lasts	Purpose
`apl_cookie_choice_v1` (browser storage)	altonpumps.com	180 days	Remembers your cookie choice. Necessary.
`_ga`, `_ga_*`	Google Analytics	Up to 2 years	Website analytics. Only if you accept analytics.
`_ltv`	altonpumps.com (first-party)	30 days from when you accept	Call tracking (analytics). It remembers how you found our website (for example a Google or Microsoft advert, a search engine or another site), so that if you phone us we know which advert or page led to your call. It is only set if you accept analytics cookies, and it is deleted as soon as you withdraw that consent.

This page is a practical website notice and should be reviewed whenever tracking, forms, suppliers or business processes change.
