What a service covers

  • Chamber inspected for fat, silt, rags and debris
  • Pumps checked to start and stop at the right levels
  • Float switches or level sensors tested and cleaned
  • Non-return and isolation valves checked
  • Control panel and high-level alarm tested
  • Report with photos sent after the visit

How servicing works

  1. Book a visit

Tell us the make of pump if you know it, how the system is used and when it was last serviced.

  2. Service on site

An engineer inspects the chamber, pumps, valves, level controls, panel and alarm.

  3. Report

You get a report with photos showing what was checked and anything that needs attention.

  4. Any repairs quoted first

If something needs replacing, we give you a written quote before any further work starts.

How often should a sewage pump be serviced?

Most domestic sewage pumps should be serviced at least once a year. Busy commercial systems, schools, care homes and stations serving several properties usually need visits more often, depending on how much they are used and what would happen if they failed.

Planned servicing is often how faults are found early. On one London visit, a service found guide rails that had corroded and come loose, so the pump could not be lifted safely. They were repaired on site.

Questions

Sewage pump servicing: common questions

How often should a sewage pump be serviced?

At least once a year for most domestic systems. Busier commercial and shared systems usually need more frequent visits. We will recommend an interval once we have seen the system.

What happens during a sewage pump service?

The chamber is inspected, the pumps are checked to start and stop at the right levels, the floats or level sensors, valves, control panel and alarm are tested, and you get a report with photos.

Do you service all makes of sewage pump?

Yes. We are independent and service all makes, including Grundfos, Wilo, KSB, Flygt, Xylem, Sulzer, Lowara, Ebara, DAB and Pedrollo.

What if the service finds a fault?

We explain what we found and the options, and give you a written quote before any repair or replacement starts.

Can I have regular visits booked in?

Yes. A service agreement books your visits in so you do not have to remember them.
