PUMP CONDITION & TECHNICAL SURVEYS

Better Decisions Start With a Pump Survey

A survey creates a reliable baseline where equipment records are missing, performance is uncertain, repeated faults occur or replacement and upgrade works are being planned.

The agreed scope can cover pumps, data plates, controls, alarms, valves, vessels, access, lifting provisions, visible pipework, operating sequence and available duty information.

Reporting can range from concise findings to a structured asset and condition report with recommended priorities, depending on the purpose of the survey.

Asset identification

Record accessible pump, panel and associated equipment information.

Condition review

Identify visible defects, maintenance issues and operational risks.

Duty & capacity

Review available flow, head, storage, operating levels and system information.

Action plan

Set out repair, maintenance, monitoring, upgrade or replacement priorities.

HOW WE APPROACH THE WORK

Practical Pump Engineering
Based on the Complete System

Send photographs, pump data, drawings and a description of the requirement. We will identify the information needed for the next step.

The survey should be defined around the decision that needs to be made. A maintenance condition survey differs from a hydraulic design review, acquisition survey or replacement specification.

Where flow, head or system capacity must be confirmed, the available drawings, levels, pipe sizes, run lengths, operating information and incoming flows should be provided before attendance.

Survey findings can support maintenance budgets, tender preparation, planned replacement, service agreements and discussions with consultants or contractors.

SURVEY PROCESS

A Clear Survey Process Process

The scope is agreed around the equipment, site conditions, operational risk and the information available.

Define

Agree the survey purpose and reporting level.

Prepare

Review drawings, schedules and previous reports.

Inspect

Record accessible equipment and site conditions.

Report

Provide findings, priorities and next steps.

The recommended work is based on the actual pump system and site conditions rather than a generic product assumption.

Where follow-up repair, replacement or design work is required, the next stage is clearly separated from the initial attendance or service scope.

We supply, install and repair leading pump manufacturers including Grundfos, Flygt, Wilo, Lowara, DAB, Ebara, Xylem, HOMA, HCP, Tsurumi.

PUMP & PUMP STATION SURVEYS FAQ

Pump & Pump Station Surveys Questions

Answers to common questions about scope, preparation and the next steps.

What is included in a pump survey? +

The scope is agreed in advance and may include asset identification, condition, controls, alarms, valves, access, duty information and recommendations.

Can you survey a pump station? +

Yes. We can review accessible wet-well, valve-chamber, control, alarm, lifting and pump equipment, subject to safe access.

Will the survey include hydraulic calculations? +

Only where this is included and sufficient system information is available. A condition survey does not automatically provide a full hydraulic design.

Can you produce an asset register? +

Yes. Accessible equipment can be recorded with data plates, location, type and condition information to the agreed level.

What should I send before the visit? +

Send the site address, reason for the survey, drawings, pump schedules, previous reports, fault history and access information where available.
