DRAIN RODDING
The team were called to another blocked drain this week – an excess of tissue and oil was found to be causing the problem.
On this occasion they were able to clear the blockage using rods. The team carry a selection of drain rods which are stiff yet flexible allowing them to apply force to the rods. These are screwed together enabling them to create the length required to reach the blockage. In other circumstances the drain may require drain jetting to clear the blockage. Our engineers are fully qualified to ascertain the appropriate solution for your blocked drain.
The rods are pushed through the drain until the blockage is reached – this loosens and dislodges debris that has built up over time in the drainage system. Using drainage experts will ensure that the drainage system has been fully flushed and no extra damage is caused. Drains are often accessed drain via rodding points (rodding eyes), which are used to allow access into a drain for inspection and cleaning. Rodding eyes are almost always used in conjunction with storm water (surface water) drains. They are located in an elevated position to ensure that any blockages that are cleared flow downstream.
