How we repair a submersible pump
Make it safe
We isolate the power and check the level, so the system cannot flood or trip again while we work.
Lift and inspect
The pump is lifted out and checked for blockages, impeller wear, seal and cable damage and motor faults.
Repair or replace
You get a written quote before any work starts. Where a repair is not worth it, we fit a suitable replacement.
Test and report
The pump is tested through its cycle and you get a report with photos.
Water in the motor or cable
A common reason a submersible pump trips is water getting past a worn seal or a damaged cable into the motor. Caught early, a pump can sometimes be repaired. Once the motor windings are damaged, replacement is usually the better option.
We work on all makes of submersible pump, including Grundfos, Flygt, Xylem, KSB, Sulzer, Wilo, Tsurumi, Pedrollo, Zoeller and DAB.

Submersible pump repair: common questions
Why does my submersible pump keep tripping?
Common causes are water in the motor or cable, a blockage around the impeller or a failing motor. An engineer can test the pump to find which.
Can a submersible pump be repaired?
Often, yes, if the fault is caught early, such as a blockage or worn part. If water has damaged the motor, a replacement is usually better value.
Can you replace a submersible pump that is no longer made?
Usually, yes. We check what the old pump was doing and fit a suitable current pump.
